BOW River Fly Fishing
Starting in the rockies and flowing east through the city of Calgary before eventually joining the South Saskatchewan River. This is truly a world class blue ribbon fishery. We float the 65 km (40 mile) tailwater section from the city of Calgary to the Carseland weir. With thousands of trout per mile and rainbows and browns averaging 18” to 22” known for their hard fighting abilities it’s easy to understand why the Bow attracts fly fisherman from around the world.
We only guide the Bow River during the best peak months of July through September. Starting July with golden stoneflies, pale morning dun’s and caddis hatches. Late July through August and into early September is hopper/terrestrial season. The hopper fishing can be amazing! The late summer early fall brings blue winged olives, caddis, and water boatmen. Dry fly opportunities exist all summer but when trout aren't feeding on the surface streamer fishing and fishing nymphs is often a great way to find fish. No matter what day during the season you pick theres potential for a great fly fishing experience.
Bow River Fly Fishing is truly world class. We really feel blessed every day we spend on this amazing trout fishery. Let one of our Bow River fly fishing guides show you why we love it so much!

Mountain Streams
We fish several beautiful walk and wade streams nestled in the mountains and foothills. These streams offer some of the best Cutthroat dry fly fishing in the rockies. Bull trout, rainbows, and cuttbow are also present in these waters.
OLDman River tailwater
Although it can be a temper mental fishery it’s also one of our favourites. This is predominantly a rainbow fishery that average 16” to 20” with the possibility of larger fish. It also holds brown trout, cuttbow, bull trout, and even the occasional Pike. If you understand the fishery well and have taken your time to get to know it as we have, it can give you an incredible although at times challenging day of fishing. PMD Mayflies and Caddisflies can fill the air in the summer months with some great hopper fishing as well.
